The Fox and Pheasant is situated in the village of Armathwaite, on the banks of the River Eden, one of the finest stretches of Salmon and Trout water in the North of England.

The Fox and Pheasant is situated in the village of Armathwaite, on the banks of the River Eden, one of the finest stretches of Salmon and Trout water in the North of England. Fishing for Salmon and Trout is available (details on request) and being very close to the Pennine Moors, it is conveniently placed for shooting parties. Armathwaite is within easy reach of the Lake District, the Yorkshire Dales, and Scottish Borders, and therefore is an ideal centre for touring.

The Fox and Pheasant was originally a 16th century coaching inn, later extended with the addition of a former shooting and fishing lodge. In converted stables is the delightful main bar with flagstones, wooden beams and inglenook fireplace. Hosts Sarah & Billy extend a warm welcome to all. An extensive range of food is available.

The Fox and Pheasant is owned and run under the personal attention of Sarah & Billy Hunter.
